Our Church
St. Michael's is a parish of the Ukrainian Greco-Catholic Church, one of 24 churches that make up the universal Church, and one of 14 which follow the Byzantine Rite in worship and spirituality. We are in full communion with the Bishop of Rome, Pope Francis.
The UGCC is a church not only for Ukrainians but for all, and includes about seven million members world-wide. Any member of any of the Catholic churches may meet the Sunday Mass obligation by attending our Divine Liturgy. (Learn more about the spirituality and worship of the Ukrainian Greco-Catholic Church at Royal Doors.) Established in 2014 as an apostolate in the Fresno/Clovis area in 2014, St. Michael's was recently raised to the status of a parish of the growing Eparchy of St. Nicholas in Chicago, under the jurisdiction of His Excellency Bishop Benedict. |
